Unveiling the Potent Russian Radar on Yasini Highway in Tehran

Introduction

A few days ago, on Yasini Highway in Tehran, a well-known Russian radar system was detected with some interesting characteristics and features. This is a passive 3D radar technology that simply receives waves from external sources instead of emitting any itself.

The producer claims that the system can detect fighter’s radar at a distance of up to 200 km and AWACS radar within 400 km, and it can also detect friend-or-foe airborne tactical navigation systems from as far as 150 km. Additionally, it purports to increase the effectiveness of defense and electronic warfare systems by about 30–40% and allow for delayed detection of enemies.

Krasukha, which means “Belladonna” in English, is another name for this Russian mobile electronic warfare system manufactured by KRET Corporation. On different wheeled platforms, Krasukha serves the Russian Armed Forces as a vital tool, primarily aimed at airborne radio electronics as well as radar-guided systems.
