Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi, the last Empress of Iran, and Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi have long been public figures in Iranian society. Many Iranians still remember them as the faces of the government that Islamic revolutionaries overthrew in 1979.

Shahbanou Farah has tirelessly campaigned for human rights in her homeland, while Crown Prince Reza established a foundation to promote democratic values shortly after his forced exile. Both have remained active internationally.

But how do we know about their personal lives?

In an interview with IranWire, Shahbanou Farah recently said she felt it was best to keep her family’s private lives separate from their public ones. However, she did offer some tidbits.

Crown Prince Reza is known to be a football fan and supporter of Esteghlal Tehran FC. He has taken his daughters to games multiple times and, on one occasion, even brought along the American actor Aaron Paul.

He also describes himself as “a very good swimmer” in his Instagram bio.
