Niloofar Hamedi and Elahe Mohammadi’s Impactful Journalism Journey Amid Controversy and Global Recognition

Continuing with the story of Elaha Mohammadi and Niloofar Hamedi, these journalists faced a tumultuous journey marked by resilience, dedication, and global recognition. Elaha Mohammadi, like her counterpart Niloofar Hamedi, found herself entangled in the complexities of Iran’s political landscape.

Arrested alongside Hamedi after the Mahsa Amini protests, Mohammadi faced charges of collaborating with the hostile government of the United States, conspiracy against the country’s security, and propaganda activities against the Islamic Republic of Iran. The 15th branch of the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced her to seven years in prison, accompanied by a two-year ban from political activities and online engagement.
