Maryam Momen was born on August 28, 1998, in Meshgin, Ardabil Province, Iran. She grew up in a modest household, being the only child of her parents. Her father, a talented lute player and artist, and her mother, a passionate horse rider, both had artistic backgrounds but did not initially see acting as a viable career path for her.

Maryam’s childhood was characterized by curiosity, mischievousness, and a deep love for performance arts. She has often spoken about her proud Turkish heritage and her fluency in the Turkish language, which she considers an important part of her identity.

Childhood Traits and Family Dynamics

From a young age, Maryam was known for her playfulness and mischievousness. Her father affectionately called her “Oghlum”, meaning “my son” in Turkish, reflecting his fondness for her spirited nature. Despite her parents’ initial disapproval of her interest in acting, she was determined to pursue her passion.

Her early years were not without challenges. Growing up in Ardabil, a city with a rich cultural history, she was exposed to traditional Iranian and Turkic culture, which shaped her worldview and artistic sensibilities.
