In America, players have the opportunity to receive a college education while training to become a professional soccer player. However, if they aren’t lucky enough to play on a great high school team, or if the travel teams/USSDA teams in the area aren’t famously great, they could miss out on this opportunity to play soccer in college. They either won’t be recognized, or, without great competition, they simply won’t reach the advanced level that collegiate soccer demands. In Europe, on the other hand, players have more opportunities to play advanced football at a younger age. However, if players aren’t careful, they can be easily taken advantage of, and their education can be highly neglected.
