In March 2010 she sang at an international celebration of the festival of Nowruz at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Leila covered Dolly Parton’s Jolene on her 1976 album Do Parande. Sahar performed in women-only events under the government’s sex segregation policy. In 2004, Sahar left because of the performing restrictions and emigrated to the UAE where she obtained Emirati citizenship. Sahar’s international professional debut was in 2012 with the song To Nabashi, but she didn’t achieve widespread notability until 2017. Sahar isn’t married.
