So, during his last year of high school, Khoshbin started his first business, where he bought food in bulk and sold it door-to-door. However, he had to close it when he was visited by a health inspector and told he needed a permit he wasn’t able to afford. At age 20, his father’s friends suggested he invest all his assets in a gas station with only a 10% down payment. Keen to make money, Manny sank all his savings into the endeavor, but soon he realized it was a scam, and he went bankrupt.
