Golshifteh Farahani: A Rising Star
Born on July 10, 1983, in Tehran, Iran, Golshifteh Farahani, whose birth name is Rahavard Farahani, began her journey to stardom at an early age. Her father, Behzad Farahani, was a theatre director and actor, while her mother, Fahimeh Rahim Nia, had a background in drama. This artistic upbringing paved the way for Golshifteh to explore her talents from a young age.
Farahani’s introduction to the world of arts came when she started studying music and piano at just five years old. Her passion for the performing arts led her to enroll in a music school in Tehran. At the age of 14, she landed a pivotal role in Dariush Mehrjui’s film “The Pear Tree,” which earned her the Crystal Roc for Best Actress at the 16th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran.
Over the years, Golshifteh Farahani’s career soared, and she gained international recognition for her performances in films like “M for Mother” (2006), “Body of Lies” (2008), “About Elly” (2009), and “The Patience Stone” (2012).
