Born Rahavard Farahani on July 10, 1983, in Tehran, Iran, Golshifteh Farahani hails from a family deeply rooted in the arts. Her father, Behzad Farahani, is a renowned theatre director and actor, and her sister, Shaghayegh Farahani, is also an accomplished actress. Golshifteh’s journey into the world of arts began at a young age when she started studying music and piano at the age of five. Her passion for the performing arts only intensified as she entered a music school in Tehran.
Golshifteh Farahani’s breakthrough came at the age of 14 when she landed the lead role in Dariush Mehrjui’s “The Pear Tree.” This role earned her the Crystal Roc for Best Actress at the 16th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran, setting the stage for a remarkable career.
