Electric car ‘Yooz’ leads the way for pilot production in homeland

President Rouhani was invited to test-drive the battery-powered car called “Yooz” (Cheetah) while being briefed on electric products of three Iranian knowledge-based companies on Wednesday. The car as well as two electric motorcycles displayed on Wednesday have been developed by the research center of Sharif University of Technology, research center of Qazvin Azad University, and Bana Sharif Research and Development Center. The president praised the homegrown products and urged the need for more efforts to promote their quality and safety. The two-seater model of electric car is not defined in Iran’s traffic law. This has led to problems for issuing license plates for these cars, the director of the knowledge-based company, Hossein Ziarati, said.
