Civil struggles of young girls with the compulsory hijab
Hijab became mandatory in Iran on August 18, 1362, and was declared so by the Islamic Council with the approval of the Islamic Penal Law for non-observance of the hijab in public streets and the determination of punishment. They know individually, not collectively. They say that at the beginning of the 1357 revolution, the issue of making the hijab compulsory became a point of disagreement among the scholars. According to some opponents, the compulsory hijab does not have a Shariah aspect, and there is no clear reference to it in the Qur’an.
