Memorial Ceremony for IRGC Major Generals Amir Ali Hajizadeh in 2025

Early Life
Amir Ali Hajizadeh was born in Tehran, the bustling capital of Iran, on 28 February 1962. Growing up during a period of significant political upheaval, including the tumultuous years leading up to the Iranian Revolution of 1979, Hajizadeh was exposed to the complex socio-political landscape of Iran from a young age. His early years coincided with the pre-revolutionary era, and he witnessed firsthand the dissatisfaction with the monarchy and the rising tide of revolutionary sentiments that would eventually overthrow the Shah. These formative experiences likely influenced his decision to join the military and dedicate his life to Iran’s revolutionary ideals.
From a young age, Hajizadeh demonstrated an aptitude for technical subjects and military strategy, which led him to pursue specialized training within Iran’s military academies. His early military career was characterized by a focus on missile technology and aerospace systems, fields in which Iran sought to develop indigenous capabilities to ensure national security amid international sanctions and regional threats.
