About Alireza Zakani

Political Career

Zakani’s robust political career includes serving as a member of the Parliament of Iran from 2004 to 2016 and again from 2020 to 2021. He is the owner of the Jahan News website and Panjereh Weekly. Despite his disqualifications by the Guardian Council for the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections, Zakani has remained a key figure in Iranian politics. He ran in the 2021 presidential election but withdrew in favor of Ebrahim Raisi.
