7 Exclusive Photos: The Royal Family Pahlavi Celebrates Nowruz 2538
Introduction
The Royal Family celebrated Nowruz, the Persian New Year, with joy and unity. Prince Reza Pahlavi, the eldest son of the late Shah of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, shared exclusive photos featuring him and his family members Yasmin Pahlavi, Farah Pahlavi, Princess Noor Pahlavi, and Iman Laia Pahlavi with her husband Brad Sherman.
In a message accompanying the pictures, Mr. Pahlavi sent his warmest wishes to all Iranians, saying, “Happy Nowruz again to all our compatriots! Happy New Year and new spring!”
This is a time to renew their hopes for the future as they navigate through political struggles both within their own family and their homeland.
Farah Diba married into the royal family of Iran in 1959. She became Queen Consort upon her husband’s coronation in 1967. Born into a prosperous family, she attended school in Paris before going on to study architecture at the University of Tehran, where she met her husband.
Following her husband’s death, she was only able to spend one night in Iran due to safety concerns.
Despite this, she persisted with charitable work throughout the world, collecting contributions from donors around the globe.
She also founded Iran’s first American-style university, the Malek National Library and Museum Institute (MNLMI), which was established by Farah Diba on behalf of her father-in-law, Mohammad Reza Shah.
Prince Reza Pahlavi is an opposition figure who has been described as a leading candidate for a democratic Iran’s future head of state.
He has been criticized for not having enough support inside his home country; however, he said that he never intended himself as “the one” but rather tried to help mobilize people towards democracy in any way that he could.
Pahlavi has also been heavily involved in charity work and has several foundations across the globe.
