Protesters Display Images of Ali Khamenei

One of the most striking elements of the protest was the display of large portraits of the assassinated Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Khamenei’s death earlier in the conflict dramatically escalated tensions across the Middle East. Many pro-Iranian supporters consider him a symbol of resistance against Western and regional adversaries.

At the London demonstration:

• Religious leaders and community organizers delivered speeches

Supporters described Khamenei as a martyr and a defender of Iran’s sovereignty.
