The Training Regimen: Preparing Women for the Demands of Firefighting

Rigorous Physical and Technical Training

Women firefighters undergo intensive training programs designed to prepare them for the physical and technical challenges they face:

  • Rescue operations: Techniques for extrication, confined space rescue, and working in collapsed structures.
  • First aid and medical response: Providing immediate medical care, CPR, and stabilization techniques.
  • Use of protective gear: Proper donning and doffing of fire-resistant suits, breathing apparatus, and rescue tools.
  • Psychological resilience: Stress management, decision-making under pressure, and teamwork exercises.

Specialized Workshops and Certifications

The women’s team regularly participates in workshops organized by Iran’s Fire Service Organization, including:

  • High-angle rescue training
  • Hazardous materials handling
  • Natural disaster response drills
  • Community fire safety education

These training sessions are essential in maintaining a high level of preparedness and ensuring the safety of both the firefighters and the public.
