Beginnings in Education and Theater

Sima Tirandaz’s passion for acting was evident early on. In 1988, she started her professional journey by engaging in educational shows produced by the School of Arts and Literature of the Broadcasting and Broadcasting organization. These shows served as her initial platform to develop her craft.

Under the mentorship of her former director, Gulab Adineh, she gained invaluable experience, honing her acting skills and understanding of stage and screen performance.

First Roles in Film and Television

Her debut in the cinematic world came with a small role in the acclaimed film “Hamon”, directed by Dariush Mehrjui, one of Iran’s most influential filmmakers. This initial exposure opened doors for her subsequent roles and collaborations with prominent directors.

Following this, she appeared in Mehrjui’s “Banoo”, further solidifying her presence in Iranian cinema. These early projects were crucial in shaping her career and gaining recognition among critics and audiences alike.

Breakthrough with “Shadows of the Invasion”

The film “Shadows of the Invasion” (1992), directed by Ahmad Amini, marked a significant turning point. Her compelling performance earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the 11th Fajr Film Festival, one of Iran’s most prestigious cinematic awards.

This recognition established her as a talented actress capable of delivering powerful performances, paving the way for more prominent roles in subsequent years.
