US–Israel Strikes on Iran Trigger Middle East War and Refugee Crisis at Armenia Border

Refugee Crisis Emerges at the Iran–Armenia Border

One of the most immediate humanitarian consequences of the war has been the movement of civilians fleeing conflict zones.

Many Iranian families have begun crossing into neighboring countries in search of safety. Armenia, which shares a border with Iran, has become one of the key entry points for refugees escaping the violence.

Images from border checkpoints show civilians arriving with suitcases, backpacks, and essential belongings. Many appear exhausted after long journeys from cities affected by military operations.

Some families reported traveling for days to reach the border.

The refugees include:

  • Families with children

  • Elderly citizens

  • Students and workers

  • Individuals seeking temporary refuge

Local authorities and humanitarian groups are now working to manage the increasing number of arrivals.
