Passing and Funeral Details
Homayoun Ershadi died after a courageous battle with cancer on November 11, 2025. His death marked the end of an era in Iranian cinema. The funeral was held in the Nam Avaran Behesht cemetery in Sakineh, Karaj, attended by a host of family members, friends, and prominent figures from Iranian arts and cinema.
The ceremony was a heartfelt tribute to his life and work, with many paying homage to his contributions to cultural dialogue through film.
