Transition to TV Series: “Fall of an Angel” (2011)

In 2011, Mehrdad Sedighian made his debut in Iranian television with the series “Fall of an Angel”. Directed by Bahram Bahramian and Hamid Bahramian, the series aired on Channel One during Ramadan, reaching a wide audience across Iran.

This role introduced Sedighian to TV viewers and showcased his versatility as an actor capable of performing in serialized storytelling. His performance was well-received, and it marked the beginning of his TV career.

The Iconic Role in “Medina” (2014)

Sedighian’s fame skyrocketed with his portrayal of “Bahman” in the popular TV series “Medina” directed by Sirous Moghadam. The series became a major hit in Iran, and his compelling performance earned him widespread recognition.

“Medina” was praised for its storytelling, production quality, and talented cast, with Sedighian’s role as Bahman being a standout. His portrayal resonated with audiences, further cementing his status as a leading actor in Iranian TV.

Decision to Step Back from Television

After his success in “Medina,” Sedighian chose to take a break from television, focusing more on cinema and theater. In interviews, he explained his reasons:

“This distance has demanded itself. Incidentally, I had many offers to play in series. There were even roles that tempted me. But I decided not to be in this field for a while and I hope I can still resist this temptation.”

His decision reflected his desire to develop as an artist and explore different mediums.
