First Anniversary Ceremony of Senior Commanders Held in Tehran and Shahr-e Rey

The first anniversary commemorations of several senior Iranian military commanders, including Mohammad Bagheri and Hossein Salami, were held on Thursday in Tehran and Shahr-e Rey, with the participation of civil and military officials. The ceremonies were organized in remembrance of commanders and personnel described in reports as having participated in what has been referred to in Iranian media discourse as the “12-Day American War,” a term used in certain domestic narratives surrounding recent military and geopolitical tensions.

The commemorative events were held in two separate locations, each carrying symbolic and religious significance. One ceremony took place in the evening at the Imam Sadegh Mosque, where a number of senior commanders, officials, and invited guests gathered to honor the memory of the late military figures. Another ceremony was held in the morning at the Shrine of Abdul Azim Hassani, a historically important religious site that frequently hosts official mourning and remembrance gatherings.
