Early Life and Career

Houman Seyyedi was born on November 29, 1980, in Rasht, Iran. Growing up in a family with a diverse professional background, Seyyedi developed an early interest in arts and cinema. After earning a diploma in graphic design, he attended the Rasht Branch of the Iranian Youth Cinema Society, where he produced several short films that marked the beginning of his filmmaking journey.

Breakthrough in Iranian Cinema

Seyyedi’s breakthrough came with his debut feature “World War III” (2022), which won the Orizzonti Award for Best Film at Venice International Film Festival. This accolade cemented his reputation as a visionary filmmaker and actor. His films often explore complex social issues, human psychology, and the intricacies of Iranian society.
